Catering Assistant and Cleaning roles
Are you looking for a job which helps you earn money and still be able to look after your children? We have opportunities for you to work in schools across Newcastle. Newcastle City Council value our staff and we pay an hourly rate of £9.90, this includes the Newcastle Living Wage.
Our Catering Assistant roles are term time only so you work 39 weeks during term time so you don’t have to think about child care during the school holidays. The Catering Assistant roles vary from 10 to 20 hours per week. There are career progression opportunities too, many of our Catering Assistants have moved to Assistant Chef posts then to Chef posts and on to Management roles.
Our Cleaner roles are either 39 or 52 week contracts and range in hours from 10 to 30 hours per week. The cleaning roles are either early morning or late afternoon in schools and we have opportunities in our public buildings too. There are also career opportunities here too, many of our Cleaners move to Chargehand Cleaner or Caretaker roles and on to Management roles.
